August 13, 2021

Dear Members,

I hope you have been enjoying your summer and that you are ready for the Williamsport Music Club to once again meet in person.  This is a preliminary letter to inform you that we have changed our location for 2021-22 to Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church, 1301 Clayton Ave, Williamsport, PA 17701.  The main reason for the change is because at this time Robert M. Sides has not determined their business hours for the coming year and the officers and board believed that we needed to make a decision in order to inform you in a timely manner and to get the new Yearbook published on time. We will therefore have our September Dinner meeting for members and invited guests Tuesday September 28 at Faxon-Kenmar.  The dinner will be beginning at 6 pm in the fellowship hall.  There is parking on the street and a parking lot in the back of the church, that entrance includes an elevator. We will have greeters to direct you outside and inside the building that evening.  Our Vice President Kathy Cimini has been working with Janet Jackson of Eat and Run to provide us with a box picnic supper, costing $12.00 a person. Please contact Kathy Cimini, 570-447-4818 or email her at kathycimini@aol.com NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 13 if you are planning on attending.  Our treasurer, Leatha Kieser will accept checks at the dinner, please keep in mind if you make a reservation, you are responsible for the cost if you cancel after September 13. Leatha will also be accepting dues at that time.

Afterwards we will move to the sanctuary To Fill Our Hearts with Music.  This year’s program chairs, Janet Hurlbert and Lois Williams are planning, for our first program entitled, “Our Favorite Things.” Janet and Lois are asking for volunteers to share your talent with a number you may have performed for Music Club or another occasion that you would like to repeat, or a number you have always wanted to perform! This is also an excellent opportunity for new members to be included. As we are at Faxon Kenmar United Methodist Church, the following are available in the sanctuary for your use, a piano, three-manual Allen organ, and an electronic keyboard. Please contact Janet Hurlbert at  hurbjan@lycoming.edu, or call 570-971-1069 by September 1 if you would like to share “Your Favorite Thing!”

I am also looking for someone who is creative to design our program posters and programs for this year, if you are interested, please email me or call to discuss it.

Our Candlelight Program will be held at Pine Street United Methodist Church and the April Gala will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. The officers and board are looking forward to us getting together again and we hope you will be able to join us.

Sincerely,

Jan Warren

WMC President
